Covers and Pads Injury
Wound closure
1. Help control bleeding
2. Prevent further contamination
3. Accelerate healing
4. Reduce pain
Bandage
Bandage is the material used to maintain wound closure. Wrapping materials made of various fabric materials.
Function wrapping
1. Emphasis to help stop the bleeding.
2. Maintain wound closure in place.
3. Provides reinforcement for the injured body part.
A good installation will help the healing process.
Several types of dressings
• Bandages ribbon / roll.
• Bandages triangular (mittela).
• Bandages suppressor.
Wound closure
• Cover the wound should cover the entire surface of the wound.
• Encourage the wound surface as clean as possible before closing the wound, unless it is accompanied by bleeding wound, then the priority is to stop the bleeding.
• Installation of wound closure should be done in such a way that the surface of the lid attached to the wound is not contaminated
Dressing
• Do not attach the bandage until the bleeding stops, except the dressing emphasis to stop the bleeding.
• Do not wrap too tight or too loose.
• Do not let the tip of loose material, as it can get caught on when moving the victim
• When dressing a small wound that should be wrapped in a wider area to increase the extent of surface pressure was extended to prevent tissue damage.
• Do not cover the finger tips, this section can be a clue when the dressing is too strong we are by looking at his fingertips. When white means the dressing is too strong and should be repaired.
• Special on limb dressing made from parts of a far more advance then approached the body.
• Make the dressing in a desired position, eg for dressing the joints do not try to bend the joints when clad in the straight state.
Use of a pressure wound closure
Combination of wound closure and dressings can also be used to help conduct the direct pressure on bleeding cases. Steps:
1. Place a sterile gauze covering the wound directly over the wound and press.
2. Give bearings wound closure.
3. Use adhesive dressings, wound closure resist.
4. bandage
5. Check the pulse of the lower end of the wound area (distal).
Open wound care
1. Make sure the wound area visible
2. Clean the area around the wound
3. Control bleeding if there is
4. Prevent further contamination
5. Give wound closure and dressing
6. Lay the patient when you lose a lot of blood and a severe wound
7. Calm patient
8. Overcome shock if any, when necessary inpatient of the shock position even though the shock has not occurred
9. Refer to health facility
Injury Care Closed
Perform maintenance as well as bleeding in
Especially for a bruise can be carried out for help as follows:
• Apply cold compress (eg bag of ice)
• bandage press
• rest of the motion
• Elevate the limb
If there is suspicion of bleeding then it should be treated like a shock victim.
Treatment of the wound with a foreign object stuck
Wound care measures, along with an embedded foreign body is as follows:
1. Stabilize the embedded object manually.
2. Do not pull it out. Foreign objects stuck never be revoked
3. Part of the wound opened so clearly visible.
4. Take control of bleeding, careful not to hit objects that pierce
5. Stabilize foreign body using a thick wound closure, or variations such as donut bandage, bandage rolls and others.
